The materials chosen for each rudder project are unique to the requirements of the demands
and dynamics of each particular project. rudder, hull, screw, and shaft are just some of the variables that have to be taken into account. There is no universal material that can be applied across all applications. Each application needs to be reviewed and engineered to keep the
electrical potential low, for the correct use of materials and construction techniques. this is something we do with vigor. This is one of the reasons we enjoy a 100 percent on time launch schedule, zero defect ratings and a zero rudder failure rating. Our UMHW hinge pins have been in service for more than 10 years and we have yet to replace one!
