Rudder Hard Over: This shows the rudder action when it is turned hard over to one side. This view shows how much more aggressive this would be in directing the water that flows over it. The tab articulates an additional 36 degrees more than the main blade, providing over 80 degrees of effective rudder. Partial Rudder: This shows the rudder action when it is partially turned to one side. As you can see, the deflector tab is simple and rugged. It is not moved by any electric or hydraulic means and therefore is less prone to breakage. It is built to withstand the demands of industrial use and is available in a variety of materials. Rudder Dead Center: This shows the rudder action when it is on center. When centered, this rudder causes no more drag than a single panel rudder and will not slow the vessels top speed at all.
